Export Finance for a Texas Agricultural Exporter Selling to West Africa
Shipment fulfilled on time; exporter expanded to two additional West African buyers.
The Challenge
The exporter had a confirmed purchase order from a Nigerian buyer but faced a working capital gap: production and logistics costs needed to be covered weeks before the buyer's payment would arrive. Their bank offered a general line of credit but at terms that made the transaction uneconomical.
Our Approach
We identified an export finance facility structured around the confirmed purchase order and the creditworthiness of the Nigerian buyer. Sellathon Consulting prepared the transaction summary and presented it to financial institutions in our network with experience in West Africa trade flows. The facility was approved and funded within 10 business days.
The Result
The exporter fulfilled the shipment on schedule. Payment was received from the buyer within the agreed terms, and the facility was repaid cleanly. The exporter has since used similar facilities for two additional buyers in Ghana and Senegal.
