Trade Finance Consultant
Sellathon Consulting is looking for a motivated Trade Finance Consultant to join our growing team in Houston, TX. In this role you will work directly with U.S. importers, exporters, and trading companies to understand their trade finance needs and facilitate introductions to established financial institutions offering the right solutions.
What You'll Do
- Conduct discovery conversations with U.S. importers, exporters, and trading companies to understand their trade finance requirements
- Assess client needs across Letters of Credit, import/export finance, bank guarantees, supply chain finance, and documentary collections
- Facilitate introductions between clients and appropriate financial institutions in our network
- Guide clients through the trade finance inquiry and onboarding process
- Maintain accurate client records and track engagement through the introduction pipeline
- Stay current on trade finance products, market conditions, and regulatory developments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and financial institution partners
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in trade finance, international banking, or a related field
- Working knowledge of trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit, documentary collections, and bank guarantees
- Strong understanding of international trade flows and cross-border transaction structures
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Houston, TX area
Nice to Have
- Experience at a trade finance bank, export credit agency, or trade finance fintech
- Existing network of importers, exporters, or trading companies
- Knowledge of EXIM Bank programs or export credit insurance
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin) a plus
